Anglesey Sea Zoo
Anglesey Sea Zoo family attraction is located around an hour's drive from our self-catering famhouse and barn converision here at Cae Garw on the Llyn Peninsula.
Being the biggest aquarium in Wales , the Anglesey Sea Zoo is one of North Wales Top Ten attractions and a great family day out. Over 150 fascinating marine species from around the coast of the UK are kept here, from Conger Eels, Stingrays, Seahorses, Octopuses to a life size model of a basking shark.
Explore British marine habitats including incredible invertebrates in the No Bone Zone, the wolf fish lair, a real crashing wave, a creepy shipwreck and a kelp forest full of big huge fish.
This marine education centre also boasts a shallow shark pool with a grated walkway over the top to allowing visitors to see the underlying sharks.
The Anglesey Sea Zoo is also involved in many conservation projects - since 1989 the lobster hatchery have released over 3000 juvenile lobsters to counteract local dwindling population. The zoo is one of the few places in the world that has been able to successfully breed and sustain native short snouted seahorse.
Other attractions at Anglesey Sea Zoo include a crazy golf course, adventure playground and bouncy castle. Families can enjoy the outside seating with views over the Snowdonia mountain range, and the award winning cafe sells locally produced food. At the gift shop - you can even buy your own pearl oyster.
